WHO ARE WE?
We are Girl Scouts! Melissa Ross is our Troop Leader, Gail Davis is our Assistant Leader.
We also have several parent vounteers. Girl Scouting was started in the United States in 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low. The
first meeting was held on March 12, 1912. In 1913 Julia helped write the first Girl Scout Handbook. Some of the information
in the handbook included how to stop a runaway horse and how to tie up a burglar with eight inches of cord. It also included
information on first aid, housekeeping and camping. Girl Scouting today is much the same as it was when it was founded in
1912. Today, Girl Scout Leaders world wide share and teach helpful skills to their troops that empower them to be self sufficient
in today's world.
No matter what country or state a girl is from they all have a few things in common.
First, they all make the Girl Scout Promise. Secondly, they all try to live by the Girl Scout Law.
Troop 504 is a team that plays, plans, laughs and learns together. We share ideas, listen
to one another and make decisions as a group. If you ask us who we are our answers might surprise you. We are friendly, inquisitive,
talkative and fun loving. One thing for certain we are NEVER DULL!

MISSION: Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.
GIRL SCOUT PROGRAM: The Girl Scout Program is girl-driven, reflecting the ever changing needs and intrests of today's
girls. Girls discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together.
