Our meetings will resume Thursday January 8th at 6:15 pm. Please have the girls bring
their Journey books as we are coming to the end of the first Journey The Power of One. We will be planning a ceremony to celebrate
so that the girls can receive their patches as well as bridging 3 of our girls who where brownies last year that were not
bridged properly to Junior Scouts. Ceremonies are a part of Girl Scouts history giving the girls a chance to plan and celebrate
their accomplishments.
At our county meeting last night a lot of up coming events where discussed; Thinking day has now been changed
to February 21st, The Powder puff derby is April 18th, and Junior weekend at Camp White Rock will be April 24th-25th, and
there will be a ½ day event for Juniors on 24th from 9 am to 12. The girls need to think about the events and if they would
like to attend them. Pre-registration is a must.
There will be a troop camp course at Camp white rock the weekend of March 28th – 29th, this is for adults
only. This training is mandatory for leaders, co-leaders and parent volunteers in order to take our troop camping. I am already
certified in all these areas but I do plan on attending the course again but at this time I am the only certified person and
there must be one or two more willing to become certified and be willing to attend camping trips with the girls. There will
also be an upcoming CPR and first aid training and again at this time I am the only one certified. I must have another person
who is willing to become certified and be available to go on trips and outing with our troop. I will provide more information
and cost on this. Please note that any adult registered as a 01 or 02 scout must attend all trainings. There will also be
a Super Sat coming up for the 01 and 02 registered adults where you can get 3 trainings in one day. This actually won’t
take but about 3 hours to do. Gail and my self just did a Super Sat. not long ago.
